Warmth for the Winter

We went up Swan Lakes today to collect firewood for this coming winter, which is fast approaching.  We woke up this morning to the low of 32°  The cold has came at us fast this year.  We woke up ate breakfast, stopped at the good old Maverick for Sandwiches for lunch and headed up the canyon.

Mason sure worked super hard today, he is a super hard worker just like his dad.  Korbyn, well he tries when he wants to, he is mostly our comedian always trying to make us laugh and trying to pull a quick one in getting out of the hard work.  He is our one of a kind ;)

They both enjoy measuring the wood to cut with the spray paint, so that it will fit in our wood burning stove.  One of the tree's we cut down was quite the challenge.  It took everything we had to get it down.  It had huge branches up top that were so thick that would get stuck on all the small trees around it.  We were pulling on it in every direction with towing straps to get it down.  But us Merrill's enjoy a challenge,  well at least I do I can't speak for Bradey and the boys but I sure thought it was fun watching and coming up with ways to get it to come down.  Not that I did much, it was all this amazing man!
Now this view, how could anyone not love this.  Holy Toledo!!   This man, I tell you what, he is the most hard working man I know.  I just assist, pretending like I know what I am doing.  My motto in life lately "Fake it till you make it" But this man, I and everyone that knows him is always in AH, by what he can do.  I don't think there is one thing that this man can't do.
